Downloading results
When the simulation is complete, the status of the plan changes to Simulation Complete, Ready For Download
. The results can then be downloaded by clicking the Results
button in the top toolbar. This will download the results file and automatically add the simulation results to the plan as new images. These are visible in the
Images
tab of the plan developer dialog, and the image display settings can be adjusted in the same way as for other planning images.
Verifying the segmentation
By default, the segmentation of the primary planning image into background, soft-tissue, and bone is returned as part of the results file. This setting can be adjusted be selecting Return medium segmentation
in the
Settings
tab. The image is labelled as Segmentation
in the plan image list. The segmentation values are 0: Background, 1: Soft Tissue, 2: Bone.
The segmentation image should be carefully reviewed to verify that the automated segmentation is correct. The example below shows the segmentation overlaid on the MNI template CT for the demonstration plan. In this case, the background (blue), soft-tissue (green), and bone (yellow) segmentations correctly overlay the corresponding regions on the planning image.
If the segmented regions do not correctly overlay the skin and skull boundaries visible on the primary planning image, the simulation results should not be used. In this case, first verify that the CT calibration is correct. Then, try adjusting the simulation domain such that it covers a least a portion of the skull, brain, and background.
